Axle Group Scale Type Low Speed Weigh In Motion System ±1% Accuracy
Low Speed Weigh-in-Motion (LS-WIM) is a vehicle weighing system that automatically detects axle load, axle group weight, and total vehicle and cargo weight by allowing vehicles to pass through the weighing area at a low and constant speed without coming to a complete stop. It is a mainstream dynamic weighing solution in the transportation sector.
Low Speed Weigh In Motion System installation and operation
Working Principle
When a vehicle passes over the weighing platform or embedded sensors, the load deforms strain sensors (bending plate or bridge-type sensors) to generate electrical signals. The controller collects continuous load waveforms, and eliminates disturbances caused by suspension vibration and road surface bumps through filtering and dynamic compensation algorithms to calculate axle loads and total vehicle weights close to the accuracy of static weighbridges. Combined with vehicle separators and axle identifiers, the system distinguishes individual vehicles and recognizes axle types, and outputs complete vehicle weighing data.
