1. Project Background
With the continuous growth of cross-border freight and highway traffic in Central Asia, illegal overloading of freight vehicles has become a prominent road management problem. Before the project implementation, local road authorities mainly adopted the traditional static weighing inspection mode, which required all freight vehicles to stop completely for weighing and inspection.
This static inspection method easily caused long queues and severe traffic congestion during peak hours, greatly reducing overall road traffic efficiency. Limited by the low throughput of static weighing stations, a large number of transit trucks were stranded, severely restricting the efficiency of local cross-border logistics and transportation. In addition, long-term overloaded vehicles caused irreversible damage to road surfaces, bridges and other infrastructure, increasing frequent maintenance costs. The traditional inspection model could no longer meet the operational and management needs of modern trunk highway transportation in Central Asia.
To solve the pain points of traffic congestion and low inspection efficiency caused by static weighing, improve the level of intelligent road infrastructure, and realize standardized and efficient overload supervision, we deployed a complete set of high-speed pre-detection system and low-speed precision inspection system on key trunk highways in Central Asia, achieving an optimal balance between smooth traffic operation and accurate overload control.
